Presently, Ben Potenziano a six year veteran with the San Francisco Giants was hired by the Pittsburgh Pirates, as the new head athletic trainer.
Coaching opportunities in strength and conditioning programs across the country
The University of Memphis: The Football Strength and Conditioning Department is searching for hard-working candidates for a Spring Internship opportunity working primarily with football. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assist Football Strength and Conditioning Staff in all facets of implementation of training programs, aid in the instruction of safe and proper weight training techniques, and assist in the regular maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
Alcorn State University: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine / Head Athletics Trainer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, organization and implementation of a year-round strength and conditioning program for student athletes. Other duties include instruction with athletes on proper techniques and development, consistent record keeping, periodic testing and evaluation, and supervision of the strength staff and weight room. Evening and weekend work is required as well as traveling with and supervising designated teams during scheduled away competitions.
The ideal candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven recruiting skills and must have a commitment to academic success and student-athlete well being.
Note: To be officially considered application and resume must be submitted via the ASU Employment web site at: http://www.alcorn.eduThe Tampa Bay Rays are currently accepting resumes for the 2012 season. The season begins March 1st and runs into early September. Spring Training is held in Port Charlotte FL and candidate will be assigned to a minor league affiliate during spring training. Location of the affiliate city’s include Durham NC, Montgomery AL, Port Charlotte FL, Bowling Green KY, Wappingers Falls NY, and Princeton WV. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) implementing the Tampa Bay Ray’s Strength and Conditioning Program at the assigned affiliate. Monitor daily strength training and conditioning sessions as well as lead team stretch, perform agility, speed, and a variety of other drills. Communicate with staff (manager, coaches, ATC’S) on a daily basis. Pay will be $1,700 per month. Per diem for the month of spring training as well as for road games during the season. Housing will also be reimbursed for spring training and the season as well. See the original story here.
